The main purpose of this website is to introduce Popular Nepali Dishes to the world.

Nepal is a small, landlocked country located in South Asia. Nepalese cuisine is heavily influenced by its geography, culture, climate and other countries like India and Tibet. Food in Nepal is very diverse which is a reflection of ethnic and cultural diversity. 

Dal-Bhat is considered to be a staple food and every single people eat this dish in a daily basis. Rice (Bhat) is cooked in a rice-cooker or in traditional pressure-cooker. Daal (Lentil) is a soup also cooked in a pressure cooker. They are generally served with verities of side-dishes such as cooked vegetables, pickles and yoghurt.

"Macha ko tarkari" or "fish curry" is made with fish and a variety of spices and herbs. Any sort of fish can be cooked in this manner. Most popular being trout, catfish and tilapia. 

Fish is cooked in a tomato based gravy that gets flavored with cumin, coriander, turmeric and chili powder. Also, onions, garlic, ginger are used. It is served with rice or roti.

"Bhogate sadeko" or Pomelo is a popular snack in Nepal. Once peeled off, it is dumped into a bowl with mixed spices, salt, chili powder, and cumin powder. Usually this dish is served during the day-time to enjoy it while warming up back in the sun. 

Pomelo is a citrus fruit with much thick skin and grows in tropical regions. It comes in pink and yellow color.
